ANZAC Derby Preview

It’s Port vs Port in the traditional Fremantle ANZAC Derby this Saturday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The Sharks, who showed encouraging signs against Peel last week, will be looking to break their duck against the Bulldogs.

East Fremantle have fallen just two goals short of their maiden win of the 2019 WAFL season, with Peel Thunder winning 12.13 (85) to 11.7 (73).

Henson hangs up the boots

East Fremantle Football Club stalwart, Sean Henson, announced his retirement from WAFL Football, effective immediately, due to increased work commitments. 

The hard-running winger, who runs his own successful lawn mowing business, Jim’s Mowing East Willetton, established himself as a player of the future in the 2010 Colts Grand Final. Henson had 21 touches, 7 Inside 50’s and kicked 3.3 to guide the Sharks to a Colts premiership.

The Subiaco Lions have defeated a hard-working East Fremantle side at New Choice Homes Park, winning 13.12 (90) to 7.3 (45).

The Sharks mounted a comeback late in the game to reduce the margin to just 27 points one minute into the final term. But the reigning premiers put the game to rest after that, kicking the next 4 goals to extend the margin.
