16s Development Squad Game Report
The 2016 16s Development Squad played their first fixture on Saturday 12th of March following the League team’s 1-point win over East Perth. The 16s had a scrappy start to the game with skills letting them down and allowing turnovers, but through defensive pressure and work from our midfield we managed to keep the visitors goalless in the first quarter.
Heading in to half time our accuracy at goal was hurting us, but with the visitors also kicking wayward, the Sharks remained in front with the half time score EFFC 2.7 EPFC 1.9.
After the half time break the Sharks’ skills and decision making improved to display some great passages of play that resulted in goals on the scoreboard.
Milan Murdoch along with Nelson Aranda worked tirelessly in the middle to create a number of marks inside 50. Towards the end the game was going down to the wire with Tom Joyce displaying some quality defence work in rebounding the ball back forward along with Ben Elsbury. The boys ended their first fixture victorious in defeating East Perth by 8 points
