Media Release - East Fremantle Football Club appoints new CEO

The East Fremantle Football Club is proud to announce that Adrian Bromage, who joined as General Manager of Football Operations just last month, has now been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer. The decision was made official during a board meeting held on Wednesday night.

Bromage’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the club, building on his already distinguished career in football and business. With the recent departure of former CEO Addy Wetzler, Bromage has seamlessly stepped into the acting CEO role and demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic insight that will be integral to the club's continued progress.

Beyond his achievements in football, Bromage boasts a robust background in business operations and project management, underscoring his comprehensive skill set. His extensive experience includes managing complex projects and overseeing business initiatives that require meticulous attention to detail and strategic oversight. His keen business acumen has consistently driven growth and improved operational efficiency, making him a strong fit for this executive position.

In addition to his football development expertise honed through his tenure at AFL Victoria, where he excelled in coaching, club and league development, talent identification, academies, and diversity initiatives, Bromage is a familiar face to the East Fremantle faithful. From 1996 to 1998, he played for the League team, earning accolades such as the Sandover Medal and the Simpson Medal during the Sharks' triumphant 1998 Premiership campaign.

Reflecting on his new role, Bromage shared his enthusiasm: “It’s an incredible feeling to return to the club that gave me so many opportunities and fond memories as a player. I’m eager to bring not only my football expertise but also my business and project management experience to support and lead our club into this next phase. Stability, strategic growth, and community engagement are my top priorities as we move forward.”

East Fremantle President Mark Stewart expressed his confidence in Bromage’s appointment: “It’s fantastic to welcome someone with such deep ties to the Sharks and a wealth of experience back to the club. Adrian’s dedication, leadership, and understanding of our club, paired with his extensive business acumen, will be pivotal in driving East Fremantle to new heights.” With Bromage’s proven track record and visionary approach, the East Fremantle Football Club is well-positioned for a successful and bright future. Bromage concluded: “I encourage all our sponsors, members, and supporters to rally behind this proud and traditional club as we move forward together into an exciting new chapter."
