East Fremantle’s Colts have continued their finals campaign in emphatic fashion, powering to a commanding 36-point victory over Claremont at Lane Group Stadium on Saturday.

The Sharks controlled proceedings from the outset, holding Claremont to just one goal in the opening half while steadily building their advantage.

East Fremantle trailed by 2 points at quarter-time after a tightly contested opening term, before producing a decisive second quarter to take a 20-point lead into half-time.

The Sharks continued to apply the pressure after the main break, with both sides kicking two goals and the margin not moving heading into the final term.

A three-goal final term capped off an impressive performance, with the Sharks finishing strongly to run out 10.4 (64) to 3.10 (28) winners.

Kye Ormerod was the standout in front of goal, finishing with three majors, while Finlay Yeo, Oscar Richardson, Reid Foot, Mitchell Baker, Aiden Martignago, Isaac Boothey and Ben Wood also found the scoreboard.

The defensive effort was a major feature of the victory, with East Fremantle conceding just three goals for the match and keeping Claremont goalless in the second and fourth terms.

Riley Singleton, Oscar Richardson, Gus Mourish, Jet Abbott, Josh Nathan and James Artemis were named among the Sharks’ best performers.

With another impressive finals performance under their belt, the Colts now turn their attention to the Grand Final on Sunday, September 20.
