Colts Honoured at Jack Clarke Medal
As the East Fremantle Colts head in to their elimination final this week against West Perth, four of the squad received individual honours at the annual Jack Clarke Medal count. The event was held at Domain Stadium on Wednesday night and the four were named in the RediMed WAFL Colts Team of the Year for Season 2015.
Congratulations to Josef Hebiton who was named at Fullback, Luke Strnadica (Full Forward), Michael Cronan (Ruck) and Fraser Perry (Interchange) for their achievement. Hebiton had a fantastic year coming in to the program from Wesley College at the end of last year. His dashing run out of defence and his ability to shut out key forwards, often when outsized, have been the strength to his game, where he was also rewarded with making his League debut at the back end of the season. Strnadica, the 200cm key forward/ruck, kicked 33 goals from his 12 games this year and also represented the WA State 18’s. Cronan has enjoyed a super year this season, after playing as a bottom ager in 2014, amassing 411 hit outs. Cronan also represented the State 18’s this year. Skipper Perry has enjoyed an outstanding 2015 where he has played in all three grades for the Sharks. In playing only 12 games in the Colts Perry was rewarded with 21 votes in the medal count last night.
Special mention to two others on the night, with Jordan Snadden finishing 7th in the count, on 25 votes, 17 behind Stan Wright of East Perth and Matthew Costello, awarded Colts Umpire of the Year, who has progressed through the ranks of umpiring through the East Fremantle District.
