Sharks support the historic WA Italian Team of the Century
East Fremantle was pleased to support the historic WA Italian Team of the Century, which culminated in a Gala Ball at Optus Stadium on Thursday 16 May.
The historic team recognises the contribution of Italians to Western Australian football.
The 23-man team, coached by Tony Micale, consists of a host of current and former champions with Italian backgrounds.
The team was first selected as a shortlist of 50 by an expert selection panel that included Ron Alexander and Dennis Cometti, and was unveiled on Thursday, with all proceeds from the night donated to Telethon. Each player - or a representative from their family - were presented with a framed jumper with the full squad printed on the front.
East Fremantle was represented in a very strong final team by Tony Micale and Domenic Cassisi. Congratulations to the following Sharks who made the top 50: Michael Collica, Alex Fasolo, Garry Gibellini, Sam Menegola and Mario Turco.
As well as those Sharks who made the top 150: Mark Amaranti, Bruno Beccaria, Thomas Bennett, Nicola Caputi, Nathan Cicerello, Ronald Cicerello, Lewis Fasolo, Bryan Lardi, Joseph Migro, Charle Osmetti, Marco Paparone, Mark Piana, Bradley Pozza, Denis Repacholi, Anthony Riconi, Joel Sofi, Silvio Soltoggio, Luke Strnadica, Michael Tassone.
