WAFL Women's R2 Wrap Up
Round 2, East Fremantle took on Subiaco at Sullivan Logistics Oval on Sunday 10th March. The side welcomed back Maya Louvel-Finn off the back of a serious injury in season 2023, and welcomed Zoe Edmonds as she debuted in the Roger's Cup side, with the team taking home another win for the 2024 season.
It was a close game, sealed with a goal in the last for a 9 point win 5.3 (33) to 6.6 (42). Cienna Leslie and Charlotte McGregor kicking 2 goals each and single goals to Co-Captain Ruby Redman and Mid-West star Abby Green. Best players in the Roger's cup win were Ruby Redman, Maya Louvel-Finn, Jada Tames, Ava Anderson and Taylah York.
East Fremantle League also proved too strong with another great win against the body-strong Subiaco, with Taya Chambers rejoining the side on Sunday. Amongst the goal scorers, all with singles, were Chloe Reilly, Sharon Wong, Sarah Wielstra, Caylen Crook, Mylee Leitch and Zippy Fish.
Best players, Sharon Wong, Amber Kinnane, Maddy Obal, Caylen Crook and Zippy Fish. This week the Sharks face Tigers in a 2022 and 2023 Grand Final rematch. Another fantastic weekend of football to be sure! Playing at Revo Stadium, Sunday 17th March, Roger's bounce down 1:45pm and League 3:50pm.
