R13 WAFLW Match Day Report
WAFLW:
The WAFLW Fremantle Derby headed to the WACA this past Monday as the port rivals battled it out in trying conditions for the Pride Cup. In team news, Georgie Cleaver and Natasha Entwistle returned to the side. The Sharks controlled the all-important field territory battle in the opening term with ruck Laura Catherine instrumental. The Sharks found their reward as Anjelique Raison set up Larissa Versaci before Cleaver sailed one home on the run moments later after some strong build up work by Caylen Crook. It was an arm wrestle in the second term with the Sharks back six defending strongly to maintain the side’s 13 point lead. East Fremantle continued to play to the conditions locking the ball in their front half before Georgia Bett kicked the first goal of the second half. From there, the Sharks maintained their advantage running out 18 point victors on WA Day. East Fremantle now have a bye before returning to the WACA to take on Swan Districts on Saturday June 17.

ROGERS CUP:
On Friday night, the Rogers Cup team took on South Fremantle under lights in the weekend’s first Pride fixture. Aliya Napoli made her East Fremantle debut while Elsie Simpson, Gisela Zumpano & Cartia Zumpano returned to the team. Lapses in the first and second terms put the Sharks on the back foot however in pleasing signs, the Sharks fought the game out kicking four goals to two with Lexi Laffrey kicking two goals and singles to Athena Mendoza and Olivia Cooper.
