Sharks WAFLW Round 2 Recap thanks to Sponsors The Left Bank
Thanks to club Sponsor The Left Bank, please see below our Round 2 WAFLW & Rogers Cup Match Day Recap:
WAFLW
East Fremantle returned to Pentanet Stadium for their Round 2 WAFLW clash against West Perth.
India Ferrier made her debut in the blue & white having joined the program from PFL club North Fremantle while Georgie Cleaver and Lauren O’Connor both played their first game of the season.
The Sharks started well, however overused the football at times with West Perth applying strong tackle pressure. The home side took a three point lead into the first break.
Neither side could gain ascendency in the second term with West Perth’s major cancelled out by a brilliant goal by Gabby O’Sullivan on the stroke of half-time tying the scores.
The Sharks responded to their half-time address, starting with the midfield brigade who got to work around stoppages with the help of ruck Emmelie Fielder amassing 4 out of 6 hit outs to advantage for the term.
A strong contested mark and conversion on goal by Anjelique Raison pushed the margin to 8 points before a Georgie Cleaver snap gave the Sharks a 13 point buffer as we turned for home.
The energy went to game high levels when Tara Maciupa roved the pack and kicked her first career goal. The Sharks continued to control field possession before a gun barrel straight set shot from Chloe Reilly sealed a 28 point victory.
