Sharks WAFLW Leadership Group Announced
East Fremantle’s 2023 WAFLW leadership group was recently announced with Ashleigh Gomes once again captaining the Sharks. Gomes, who has played 92 games for the blue and white, enters her third season as skipper. A passionate East Fremantle person, Gomes has grown into the role over time being a key figure in driving and elevating our WAFLW program.

Larissa Versaci and Hayley O’Donnell have been named co vice-captains as both players continue as members of the leadership group.
Doma Fedele and Beth Beckett deservedly step into formal leadership positions for the first time with both players making strong impressions since joining the club.
In an extended group, Alli Nokes and Taya Chambers assume the role of emerging leaders as younger players within the League squad who have been recognised by their peers and coaches.

The East Fremantle Rogers Cup - Youth Girls will be led by co-captains Ruby Redman and Madi Evans in Season 2023. Both players enter their second season in the Youth Girls program with their leadership on full display over pre-season.

Ruby and Madi will be supported by vice-captains Grace Freeman, Jaya Ingram and Summer Pollard. All three players were key members of last year’s Youth Girls squad and have a strong understanding of what’s required from their team-mates and coaches.
Similar to the League squad, the Youth Girls will have emerging leaders in Tobee Brackin, Gisela Zumpano, Tanayah Buswell, Amy Thompson and Caylen Crook who will each lead a small group of players throughout the year with the aim of developing their leadership attributes.
