WAFLW Senior Camp at Bickley Outdoor Recreational Camp
Last Saturday East Fremantle’s WAFLW senior squad, coaches and staff travelled to Bickley for our annual pre-season camp.
The overnight trip aimed to bring the group closer together leading into the season, spending time away from the club.
The morning started with some ice-breaking activities before turning our attention to education sessions focusing on culture and values and leadership.
Lunch was followed by more teamwork activities which included guiding a partner through an obstacle course and other activities. The players then split into their shiver groups and undertook an orienteering challenge armed with a map, clues and two-way radio with each group aiming to find as many markers as possible. The radios came in handy to report back to home base and for an impromptu karaoke session in the 38 degree heat.
Upon returning back to camp, everyone was glued to the TV as we cheered home the Scorchers. After dinner, the players cast their leadership group votes which was followed by a couple of activities to round off a jam packed day.
The hot weather led to an early breakfast which was followed by a strength & conditioning scavenger hunt and well deserved recovery swim.
We farewelled Bickley and headed home with our sights on the upcoming 2023 season.
Thank you to Vision Produce Canning Vale and The Big Butcher in Osborne Park for their support with a generous donation of the food for the weekend.
We also recognize our female program corporate sponsors: Drillmech, PTE Group, Classic Contractors, Edinger Real Estate, Forty Winks Melville/O'Connor/Cockburn/Claremont.
