Life Members Inducted at 2022 AGM

EFFC 2022 Annual General Meeting

The East Fremantle Football Club last night held their 2022 Annual General Meeting at the East Fremantle Yacht Club.   President Mark Stewart welcomed members, special guests and presented the 2022 Annual Report.  President Stewart thanked our Members, Board, Staff and Players for their efforts in 2022.

The following Directors were confirmed to fill the required Board of Directors positions.

  • Mark Stewart - President – 2 year term
  • David Edinger - Director - 2 year term
  • Kim Chatfield - Director – 2  year term
  • Damien Condon - Director - 2 year term
  • Con Tripi - Director - 2 year term

CEO Todd Shimmon provided an update on the redevelopment of the East Fremantle Oval Precinct with the commencement of works.

Senior Coach Bill Monaghan updated the members on our new recruits, pre-season so far and the goals for 2023.

The following people were nominated and endorsed at the AGM as EFFC Life Members.  EFFC wish to acknowledge and thank them for their contribution to the Club.

Lawrence Watson

Lawrence fondly known as ‘Toby/Jack/Lawry’. 

Lawrence arrived at EFFC in 1961 and is a premiership player (1965) has played 129 league games, 6 reserve games and has served as a Club Director, runner, and football selector.

 

 

 

 

Cassandra Rowe

Cassandra has served the club over 26 years.

Including 17 years as a member of the EFFC Past Player & East Fremantle Officials Association, 5 years as a committee member, 3 years as secretary and has served numerous other roles within the club.

 

 

 

 

Tony Micale

Nominated by:  Stephen Bilcich

 

Tony has 13 years’ service with the club, having played 58 games with EFFC.

He is a premiership player (1974), served as League Coach 1995-1998, Premiership Coach (1998), Assistant Coach and Reserves Coach 1991-1994 (League Premierships 1992,1994 – Reserves 1993,1994).

 

 

 

Matthew Jupp

Our Club Captain Matthew Jupp joined the Sharks in 2013 as a 16 year old and sits at 161 games (still playing).  Matthew has represented WA in the 2021 State team.   

Juppy is a natural leader and goes above and beyond what is expected of our Senior leader, organizing group events, volunteering his time and a leader and support to his group of players.

 

 

 

 

A Certificate of Merit was awarded to Daphne Margetts. 

Daphne has assisted the club on match days for some 27 years, preparing and funding when required.  Daphne will turn 100 in January.

Steve Miguel accepted this on Daphne’s behalf.
