Round 20 Colts Wrap
As we embarked on our final game for the season, we knew it was going to be a difficult assignment against a strong East Perth team that was finals bound.
We started the game well displaying great spirit in the contest and getting the ball out to our outside runners who provided us with some good link up play that saw us only trail by 5 points at the first break.
We continued to work hard in the second term and competed well against a strong East Perth outfit.
Unfortunately, the bigger bodied East Perth players and their strong midfield took complete control of the game in the second half as they ran away with a comprehensive 74-point win.
The pleasing aspect was the ability of our very young side to compete and never give up through the course of the match.
Some good contributors on the day were Jayke Scott who battled manfully in the ruck, Kaleb Smith continued his good form of half back and Presley Campbell worked tirelessly all day.
As has been the norm over recent weeks we would like to congratulate our two colt’s debutants on the day – Byron McFarland (Attadale JFC) and Ashton Warner (Applecross / Mt Pleasant JFC).
As it’s a wrap for the Colts 2022 season , a big thankyou goes out to all our players who committed their time and effort, training and playing for 10 months of the year, our passionate coaching group for their commitment, and devotion to the program, and finally our tremendous support staff (S&C, Medical, Runners, Bench staff and Property team) who ensure our group are always ready to run out on game day.
