Rd 15 - Colts Wrap Up
The game started well with the Sharks kicking the first couple of goals of the match and taking on a 9 point lead into the quarter time break.
The second quarter saw East Fremantle lose some concentration allowing Perth to control the game for long periods of the quarter and it showed on the scoreboard at half time with Perth leading by 2 points at the long break.
A reminder from the coaching staff at half-time to play the way we are instructed to allowed us to come out in the third quarter and gain control of the game, kicking 4 goals for the quarter and holding Perth to just 4 points.
The good work continued in the final quarter kicking another 3 goals and allowing Perth to just score the one goal.
A strong second half showing allowed us to run out convincing 36 point winners.
The most pleasing aspect was everyone in the team contributed during the game, which reflected in the overall team performance.
Whilst it was a great team effort, some strong performances from Elijah Burrows in defence provided some great drive from half back, Luke Yeo continued his good form with 26 disposals, including 15 contested possessions and 6 clearances, Darcy Wills also competed strongly in the ruck with 26 hitouts and a goal whilst resting forward.
Congratulations to Llewyn Valli (Brigades in Geraldton) and Elijah Stockden (Melville JFC) on their EF Colts debut.
A big game coming up this Saturday as we take on West Perth, 9:40am at Pentanet Stadium.
