Rd 8 Reserves Wrap Up
The East Fremantle Reserves side once again came up short on the weekend, going down to West Perth by 33 points in slippery conditions. The young Sharks jumped out the gates strongly, making the most of their chances to lead by 5 points at quarter time. West Perth responded in the second quarter, kicking 3.4 to 1 point to hold a 16 point lead at the major break. The game turned into an arm-wrestle in the second half, with the more experienced Falcons standing up and answering every time the Sharks responded to take the win.
Better performers for the Sharks were Keanu Haddow, who continued his recent good form down back with 20 disposals, Jack Norrish up forward, who made the most of his chances by kicking 3 goals to pull into 2nd position on the competition goal-kicking table and Josh Ritchie, who played forward and through the midfield and had 5 clearances, 11 tackles and 4 inside 50s from his 15 disposals.
The Sharks next take on ladder leaders, Claremont at the WACA this Saturday.
