$9,000 raised for TBC1D24 Foundation

Last weekend, Sharks match day footy was particularly special as both men and women’s teams rallied behind seven-year-old Ariella Italiano and her ongoing battle with the rare genetic mutation condition TBC1D24.   

Ariella Italiano suffers from a rare genetic condition TBC1D24 which causes frequent episodes of muscle tone loss, resulting in temporary paralysis.  In 2020, only 120 people worldwide were diagnosed with the condition.

Little Ariella ran out on the field with the East Fremantle women’s football team and joined our Men's League to in the change rooms prior to their game to raise awareness of the condition as well as raise funds for the TBC1D24 Foundation.  Ariella and her family had a great day.

 


The Sharks successfully raised an outstanding amount of $9,000 which almost doubled the initial goal to raise $5,000.  Thank you to the following sponsors who contributed:
