Round 5 - Colt's Wrap Up
After two weeks off, East Fremantle Colt’s returned victorious recording a 37 point victory against Perth on Saturday.
In tricky first half conditions, the Sharks gained ascendency early kicking four unanswered goals in the opening term. A similar story ensued in the second quarter with both teams struggling at times to move the ball with any ease as Lucas O’Keeffe kicked the solitary goal for the quarter.
Finn O’Reilly kicked his second for the day and Michael Panaia converted after a chase down tackle inside forward 50, the away side opened up a 45 point margin. Perth responded kicking the next three goals of the contest before O’Reilly’s third major pegged one back for the Sharks. Perth challenged again at the beginning of the final term cutting the margin to 21 points before last quarter goals to Ben Praxl and stand in captain Luke Yeo helped secure the win.
Better players were Luke Yeo (22 disposals at 86% efficiency, 7 clearances and 12 tackles), Luca Gangemi (26 disposals, 6 clearances and 6 inside 50’s), Jack Cleaver (22 disposals, 3 intercept marks and 6 score involvements), Patrick Shaw (14 touches, 6 score involvements and a goal), Finn O’Reilly (4 marks, 3 tackles and 3 goals).
