Round 2 - Colts Match Day Review
The East Fremantle Colts put together a more complete performance to record an 8 point victory against Swan Districts on Sunday.
The Sharks again started well with the midfield leading the way to gain field position and provide the forwards with good looks kicking 4 goals to 1 to head into the first break with a 21 point lead.
We were our own worst enemy at times in the opening part of the second term with overuse and an inability to defend the ground proving costly as Swans closed the gap to 12 points at the main break.
Swans picked up where they left off kicking the opening two goals of the third quarter however goals to Luke Yeo and James Spadanuda settled the Sharks.
Debutant Patrick Shaw kicked an important opening goal of the final term with the Sharks controlling large portions of the quarter however consecutive goals to the home side pulled them within two points before a Kobe McMillan set shot goal proved to be enough for the Sharks.
Better players were Luke Yeo (28 disposals, six tackles and a goal), James Spadanuda (25 disposals, six clearances and two goals), Jed Hagan (31 disposals, 14 marks and six score involvements), Jack Cleaver (17 disposals and three rebound 50’s) and Sam Otto (28 disposals, 8 marks and six score involvements). The Colts come up against East Perth on Sunday May 1 at New Choice Homes Park at 2.15 pm.
