VALE PERCY JOHNSON
Vale Percy Johnson
East Fremantle Football Club extend their condolences to the Johnson family on the recent passing of Percy.
Born in Kalgoorlie, Percy arrived in Perth as a teenager and attended Aquinas College.
Percy made his League debut for East Fremantle in 1951, playing 180 games in number 23, achieving premiership success in 1957 and is a member of the EFFC Hall of Fame, EFFC Life Member and WA Football Hall of Fame inductee. He also played for Swans, Claremont and WA for a total of 228 games.
Percy mentored young footballers, especially ruckmen for almost 60 years. He had a strong passion for working with young indigenous footballers in the Kimberley region, donating balls and boots so they could play our great game.
Percy is remembered as a legend of WA Football, respected media commentator and an icon of the East Fremantle Football Club.
