WELCOME TO THE SHARKS JACKSON McDONALD
WELCOME TO THE SHARKS JACKSON McDONALD
East Fremantle Football Club would like to announce the player signing of Jackson McDonald to the club for the 2022 season.
Originally from the Aberfeldie JFC in Victoria, Jackson shot into draft calculations in 2016 with some strong performances through the midfield for the Calder Cannons, which earnt him a Draft Combine invite. After missing out on the Draft, Jackson joined VFL club Coburg, making his VFL debut in Round 1 of 2017. With COVID shutting down the VFL competition in 2020 and most of 2021, Jackson headed north to keep playing, winning a premiership with Port Douglas Crocs.
Football Manager, Brad Dodd, gave us his insight on the new arrival.
“Jackson is a strong endurance athlete who can play inside and outside mid. He is very clever around stoppages and has good initial speed and agility to break away from the pack. We see his opportunities with us mainly on the wing where he should enjoy the bigger grounds of WA.”

Jackson is looking forward to making the move west.
“I’m really looking forward to a new challenge, a change of scenery and meeting all the boys. Starting at a new club is exciting and i’m driven to prove myself to the group and be apart of squad that is driving to get better. ”
McDonald is keen to make his mark in the WAFL.
“I’m a very competitive person who can add experience and different insights from another high level environment. I’m excited to challenge myself in WA and I can’t wait to run out in the Blue and White.”
Jackson will join the rest of his team mates in the New Year.
