Round 7 | Match Preview
The Sharks will face their biggest challenge of the WAFL Premiership Season at New Choice Homes Park this Saturday as they host the second place Claremont Tigers.
Following the win against the West Coast Eagles before the state bye, the Sharks will be looking for back-to-back wins for the first time in 2021 and move to a 4-2 win-loss record.
For the second time in two matches, the Sharks will be unveiling a debutant in 18-year-old Finn Gorringe.
Gorringe has been named in the back pocket and is coming off a fantastic season in the Colts in 2020 where he averaged above 20 disposals a match.
The defender has started the 2021 season well in the Reserves, averaging 15 disposals, eight marks and two tackles a game.
Last years Colts Best and Fairest is a hard at it type who defends strongly and is good in the clinches. He has been a regular member of the extended squad in 2021 and has finally broken through for his debut game.
In addition to Gorringe, the Sharks welcome back Dillon O’Reilly from injury.
The Reserves and Colts return to action at 11:40 and 9:10 respectively having had a fortnight off, with many players continuing to find game time in the local amateur competition over the break.
The Reserves are sitting in 5th with a 2-2 win-loss record and will be looking to better the ledger against the top of the table Claremont. The Colts are 3-1 and sit in 4th position on the ladder and will be hoping they can get the better of the 6th placed Claremont.
Make sure you come down and watch what will be a fantastic days’ worth of football at Shark Park with plenty of entertainment on offer for the whole family!
