Two Sharks Selected in 2020 AFL Draft
The East Fremantle Football Club wishes to congratulate Jack Carroll and Brandon Walker on their selections in the 2020 AFL Draft.
Hailing from the Mid West, Carroll was selected by Carlton with pick 41, following in the footsteps of Blues star Patrick Cripps. Highly regarded for his class with ball in hand, Carroll is an elite decision-maker who has the scope to be one of the most complete on-ballers from this year’s draft. He starred for East Fremantle’s Colts side, averaging 23 disposals and over five clearances per game before a wrist injury ended his season prematurely. Standing at 187 centimetres, Carroll often uses his frame and marking prowess overhead to his advantage against smaller opposition midfielders around the ground.
A member of Fremantle’s Next Generation Academy (NGA), Walker was taken by the club with pick 50. He had an impressive season for East Fremantle in the Colts this year, averaging 19 disposals and finishing the season as the no.1 ranked general defender in the competition for uncontested possessions and running bounces. A special athlete, Brandon has a big vertical leap and freakish speed and agility, which he uses to intercept, take the game on and break the lines off half-back.
Best of luck to our Sharks in their AFL endeavours.
