O’Reilly Returns
East Fremantle are delighted to welcome Dillon O’Reilly back to the club.
The 193cm versatile key position player was selected by Fremantle in the 2019 Mid-Season Draft from the Sharks.
Dillon is a skilful player, who has a penetrating kick and the ability to read the ball early in the air.
Football Operations Manager, Brad Dodd said O’Reilly’s ability to play forward or back is a handy addition to the senior side.
“It’s disappointing for Dillon, who worked extremely hard to get onto an AFL list, but at just 20-years of age there is plenty of opportunity for him going forward,” Dodd said.
“Dillon’s versatility is a great asset to the side. He has put on some size from his time at Fremantle and he’s likely to play Forward at this stage.”
O’Reilly burst onto the WAFL scene as a 17 year old, making his debut against Peel Thunder in 2017. Playing against Sam Collins and Aaron Naughton, he had 11 disposals, 5 marks and 3 shots at goal.
He represented WA at the NAB U18 Championships in 2018, where he took the equal most contested marks of any player and also led the goalkicking for WA.
Unfortunately, O’Reilly was overlooked in the 2018 draft, but he worked hard during the pre-season to impress Fremantle’s recruiters with his diligence and application. After adding some more league games in 2019, he was selected in the first mid-season draft.
We look forward to seeing Dillon back at Shark Park with the squad on November 30th as pre-season kicks off.
