Preview | Round 14 vs Swans
The Sharks will look to return to the winner’s circle this Saturday when they host Swan Districts at New Choice Homes Park.
The two sides met in Round 6 this year, where East Fremantle emerged victors in an arm wrestle match, making it our first win of the season.
After some close encounters in recent rounds, the Sharks were disappointed with last week’s performance against the reigning premiers.
Nineteen-year-old Max Murphy will make his league debut for the Sharks. The Geraldton product has played two Reserves games this year, before his State 18 commitments saw him play two games for WA. He was a part of the victorious WA side that defeated Vic Country to claim the 2019 Championship. A tall, rangy wingman, Murphy has a great work ethic and is an important inclusion this week.
Into the extended squad comes Alex Montauban, Tim Bockman and Cameron Davidson. If selected, Bockman and Davidson will play their first league games for 2019.
It’s a big game of our Reserves this weekend as they fight to cement their spot in the top 5. Currently in 4th position, the Sharks have the same points as East Perth (5th) and Swan Districts (6th) with percentage just separating the three teams. The boys should go in with some confidence after an impressive performance against Subiaco last weekend, that saw them hold off a late surge from the reigning premiers.
With eleven changes to the Colts side this week, the boys will look to bounce back after a rough patch. The return of our State players is set to boost the side as well as the likes of our All Australians, Jeremy Sharp, Luke Jackson and Trent Rivers.
