East Fremantle Oval Revitalisation Project Report
Dear Members, Supporters & Sponsors
I am pleased to announce the East Fremantle Oval Precinct Vision Report for the Revitalisation of the Oval, was approved by Councillors at the Town of East Fremantle on Tuesday night.
Over the next 2 months the Community are invited to make public comment on the report. (See Below)
The submission/comment period closes on Wednesday 24 April 2019, the Town is currently looking at hosting a Community Presentation Meeting in March.
The Club has worked closely with the Town and fellow stakeholders over the last two years to provide a community outcome which will be beneficial for all parties.
In September last year a 4 day charette design workshop was held at the Bowling Club with good input from community members on what they would like to see in the new precinct redevelopment.
The major change for our Club will be the construction of a new football facility in the North West Corner of the precinct, changing from our current position in the South West Corner.
Our new facility will also accommodate other sporting organisations from within the community, see modified Community Concept pages from 26 to 31.
Please note: The items listed to go in our new building are not confirmed, they are similar rooms to what we have in our current facility. More detail on exact sizes & uses will come out of a full business plan once the vision report is complete.
The Board has also made the decision to stay at East Fremantle Oval and work with the Council to find funding, to build a quality sporting precinct for the Club and the whole community to enjoy.
I would personally like to thank the board and particularly our Vice President John Ipsen and our CEO Todd Shimmon, who have worked closely with the Town to provide the vision illustrated in this report.
Their experience and knowledge on these types of projects is first class, and we are delighted to have them representing us on key stakeholder committees.
However, we still have a lot of work to go, and I urge all members & supporters to make comment on the new vision before the 24th April.
Unite for the Blue & White
