Round 14 | Match Report Peel
The Sharks were overrun in the final term of Saturday’s game, going down by 33-points to the reigning premiers, Peel Thunder.
While the visitors got an early lead, the Sharks remained contention for much of the game with some contested footy.
The young East Fremantle side did well to match Peel for three quarters, but a 15-minute lapse in the final term enabled Peel to kick some goals, making the margin larger than the Sharks hoped.
After 3 weeks on the sidelines, Dylan Winton worked hard all day particularly in the absence of Ryan Lester-Smith.
Jayden Schofield’s outstanding season continues, finishing with 28 disposals, 20 kicks and 8 marks.
In just his fourth league game, 19-year old Leon Pearton played a significant role on captain Gerald Ugle, keeping him goalless and to just 7 disposals.
The development of third gamer, Lachy Bailey, who showed good composure down back, gives a snapshot into the bright future of the Sharks.
Ambrose Ryan was the 17th player to debut for the club and managed not only his first league goal, but the only one for the third quarter.
Cam Eardley worked hard in the middle all day, collecting 27 disposals, 17 kicks and 6 marks.
