2016 Lynn Medallist Awarded
The East Fremantle Football Club's Best & Fairest Award, the Lynn Medal, has been won by Liam Anthony in an extremely close contest.
Liam overtook George Hampson in the final round of the year, polling 6 votes in the final match to win by just 4 votes.
The award caps off a fantastic year for Liam, where he was named Vice-Captain and came 4th in the Sandover Medal count. Liam was also named in the State Squad but had to withdraw due to an injury, which also saw him miss rounds 13 & 14.
George has also had a year hampered by injury, missing 4 matches in the middle of the season due to a knee injury and a hamstring strain in Round 21 meant he was unable to play in the final two matches of the year. This makes his achievement in being awarded the Runner Up Fairest and Best even more significant.
In the other grades, Jesse Adamini was awarded the Henry Jeffery Medal for the best Development League player, depsite playing 7 games in the League side and Matthew Burton the Alan Trott medal for the Colts Best & Fairest.
The winners of the East Fremantle Women's Football Club Fairest and Best Awards also attended the night. The League Trophy was won by Melissa Caulfield and Emma Swanson.
The voting system was updated this year, with each of the 5 coaches allowed to award up to 10 votes per match. This has resulted in extremely close contests across all three grades, with just 1 vote and 3 votes separating 1st and 2nd place in Colts and Development League respectively.
