The AOS Development Squad Round 1 Report
The AOS Talent Development squads kicked off their first fixture against South Fremantle on Tuesday in wet and windy conditions at Fremantle Oval.
The Year 8B squad started off the day slowly and struggled for most of the game with South Fremantle’s skills being a game changer.
Goals: J. Steele and J. Carriera
Best: W. Fransden, S. Collins & C. Grant
SFFC - 9.12.66
EFFC - 2.2.14
The Year 9Bs were much the same as the previous game with our skills not being up to South Fremantle’s standard. We had a lot of the ball, but didn't use it well enough to score and the turnovers hurt us.
Goals: J. Warren & E. Neesham
Best: J. Paton, C. Farrell and J. Baleu
SFFC – 8.11.59
EFFC – 2.4.16
The 8As had an excellent game with good ball use and great run. Sam Emery and Brandon Walker showed fantastic skills and decision making throughout the game. There was excellent team play and unselfish football by the squad throughout the match.
Goals: B. Walker 3, M. Best 2, E. Curley 2, D. Savy, T. Burns, J. Merillo, J. Gray, Z. Goodacre and J. Stedman
Best: S. Emery, Z. Goodacre and T. Wilkes.
SFFC – 4.3.27
EFFC – 14.14.98
The 9As were in control for most of the match with some quality football from Tristan Crouch and Trent Rivers. Trey Ruscoe was very good off Half back with the rebound and Lachlan McGrath was excellent when in contests. South Fremantle came close in the final quarter but our boys held them off to grab the win by 10 Points.
Goals: T. Rivers 3, B. Hodge 2, L. McGrath, B. Teakle, T. Ruscoe.
Best: T. Crouch, T Rivers and T. Ruscoe.
SFFC – 6.9.45
EFFC – 8.7.55
The year 10s played an outstanding brand of football in the last game of the day. The weather didn’t stop our boys from hitting targets and playing our game style. Sean Henley and Bay Tucek were exceptional through the middle as was Jeremy Sharp and Luke Dobson off half back.
Goals: A. Mason 2, J. Price 2, J. Goodwin 2, J. Sharp 2, A. Wood, J. Jackson, M. Wright, C. Warner, M. Cusworth, S. Henley and R. McGuire.
