Sharks Sharon Wong claims 2022 Dhara Kerr Medal

East Fremantle Football Club veteran Sharon Wong has capped a remarkable season to be crowned the 2022 Dhara Kerr Medallist at the WAFL Women’s Awards on Monday night at Crown Perth’s Astral Ballroom.
The energetic midfielder claimed the WAFL Women’s fairest and best award after finishing with 18 votes and comes as a sweet victory after placing second in 2021 with 14 votes, East Fremantle Club Captain Ashleigh Gomes runner up on 14 votes.
The Cath Boyce Rookie of the Year presented by West Coast Eagles, was won by Julia Teakle who was not in attendance due to her AFLW commitments but sent a video accepting her award.
The WAFLW League Coach of the Year presented by Fremantle Football Club, was taken out by East Fremantle coach Matthew Templeton.
Also presented on the night were awards for the WAFLW Reserves and U18 Rogers Cup competitions.
Jessie McDonald picked up the Reserves leading goal kicker award.
