Below is some infomation about the Kai Fella Foundation and what they do.
What We Do
Kai-Fella is a grassroots, community-led charity that delivers mental health and emotional resilience programs to young people through sports clubs, schools, and local networks. We offer practical, evidence-informed workshops designed to break down stigma, spark meaningful conversations, and build supportive peer connections. Our sessions are raw, real, and relatable—meeting young people where they are, in environments where they already feel a sense of belonging.
Why We Do It
We exist because too many young people are struggling in silence. The mental health system is stretched, and our youth can feel isolated, misunderstood, or disconnected. Founder, Claire Eardley lost her middle son, Kai, to suicide at 20 years old. In his memory, she created Kai-Fella to change the story for others. At Kai-Fella, we believe every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued—before they’re in crisis. Early intervention, emotional education, and community connection can save lives.
How We Do It
We partner with sporting clubs, schools, and local leaders to deliver workshops that are co-designed with young people themselves. Using peer driven workshops developed with behavioural science, and rites of passage frameworks, we explore identity, challenge gender stereotypes, and learn how our youth can support themselves and each other. Through these programs we foster safe spaces where vulnerability is respected, and resilience is grown from within.
Kai-Fella is about prevention, connection, and hope, and starting a courageous conversation, where we can begin a cultural shift.
