Luke Wilson Appointed Futures Coach for 2025

The East Fremantle Football Club is proud to announce the appointment of Luke Wilson as our new Futures Head Coach for the 2025 season.

Luke is no stranger to the Sharks’ talent pathway, having been involved in the East Fremantle Futures program for the past three years. He served as a line coach over the last two seasons and as the team runner prior to that, building strong relationships with players and staff while developing a deep understanding of our club’s culture and standards.

A Level 2-accredited AFL coach with over a decade of experience in junior and youth football, Luke brings a player-first approach that aligns perfectly with our development objectives. He has built a reputation for nurturing young talent and creating environments where athletes can thrive both on and off the field.

Throughout his time in the Futures program, Luke has consistently delivered high-quality coaching — implementing game plans, setting clear training standards, and playing a key role in progressing players through the development pathway. He has also held coaching roles across the 14s and 15s levels at East Fremantle, gaining valuable insight into the full junior development journey.

Away from football, Luke is the General Manager of a financial services business, leading a team of 15. His experience in leadership, communication, and performance management further strengthens his ability to inspire and support young footballers.

Luke’s coaching philosophy focuses on creating a positive, engaging environment with an emphasis on clear communication, individual growth, and strong team values.
