East Fremantle Football Club announces the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Todd Shimmon, following almost nine years at the helm of WA’s most successful WAFL football club.

On behalf of the board, members, staff, players and supporters, EFFC President Mark Stewart thanked Mr Shimmon for his contribution to the Club over the years.

“Todd has shown a genuine passion for our Club’s football program and worked hard to ensure our players and coaches have the resources they need to succeed,” Mr Stewart said.

“He has also been heavily involved in negotiations around our new facility as part of the $32 million redevelopment project at East Fremantle Oval, which will secure our long-term future.”

Mr Stewart acknowledged Mr Shimmon’s leadership during COVID-19, saying he led the club through an unprecedented period of uncertainty and disruption caused by the pandemic.

Mr Shimmon will finish mid-October, as East Fremantle Football Club begins the recruitment process for a new CEO to lead the Club into an exciting new era.

Mr Stewart said the Club was confident it would attract a high-quality candidate who would realise the opportunities the new facility presents and take the Club to the next level.

Talent Manager David Depane will step into the role of acting CEO upon Mr Shimmon’s departure.
