Teams Locked! WAFL R19 Preview
East Fremantle travel to Mineral Resource Park to take on the Perth Demons in a critical clash in the Sharks efforts to finish top of the table. The Sharks currently enjoy a 7 game winning streak and will take on the Demons full of confidence after a narrow victory against East Perth last weekend. Perth were right in the game against Swan Districts, before fading in the last quarter. The previous time the 2 teams met, the Demons were plucky pulling within a couple of goals in the 3rd quarter before the Sharks responded to win by 28 points.
Harry Marsh is in season best form and will likely attract a tag from Perth negator Brodie Gray. Marsh was best afield against the Royals, with 29 disposals, 3 goals, 9 inside 50s, 9 clearances and 8 tackles in a dominant display. The midfielder was well supported by Jarrad Jansen, Tom Joyce and Jackson McDonald. Josh Schoenfeld returns to the side after spending time to regain touch and fitness after a knee setback in Round 9. Reuben McGuire and Hugh Dixon are creating a nice ruck combination, with both players able to impact around the ground, while Dixon was effective forward, kicking 3 goals. Down back, Lennon Marlin will be looking to continue his good form against his old side. There are 3 ex-Demons playing for the Sharks with Marlin, Cody Leggett and Luke English once donning the Red and Black. Jamie Meade also return to the League side for the first time this year, having injured his knee in the pre-season.
The Reserves are currently on a 3 game winning streak and will clash with a confident Perth side, who knocked off ladder leaders, Swan Districts, by 35 points last round. The Sharks need a win to guarantee a place in the finals. The will again be looking to League experienced players, Ryan Lester-Smith, Enrique Aiken-Featherstone, Matt Williamson and Jack Cleaver to step up and lead the way. The game marks the Reserves debut for Colts eligible players, Jayden Davis, Jacob Calabrese and Clayton Wood.
A mouth watering clash is set up in the Colts, with the top of the table Demons clashing with the 3rd place Sharks. East Fremantle is currently on a 8 game winning streak and will head into the match full of confidence.
The Colts kick the day off from 910am.
