Two more Sharks added to the Frenzy
The East Fremantle Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Bradley McGowan and Jordan Mills for the next two seasons.
McGowan comes to the Sharks from North Fremantle Football Club, where he played a pivotal role in the clubs push into the 2019 A Grade finals. He has previously played at Peel, where he registered 20 WAFL games. A versatile player, the 192cm McGowan has the ability to play Forward or Back. He made an impression on Coach, Bill Monaghan, when kicked 6 goals in a pre-season clash against West Perth a few years back. Keen to reignite his WAFL career after a year focusing on his work, McGowan is looking forward to getting started down at New Choice Homes Park.
“I’m excited to be back at a WAFL club. I’m really looking forward to getting down and meeting everyone and having a decent crack at the Sharks. Pre-season for me is all about getting as fit and as strong as I can,” McGowan said.
Jordan Mills reconnects with his former West Perth coaches Bill Monaghan and Paul Sanzone at the Sharks. A key Back, Jordan has shown great application and perseverance throughout his WAFL career. Adding another key Defender to the squad was a focus for the Football Department, according to Football Manager Brad Dodd.
“In terms of our list profile, we are relatively inexperienced in our key Defensive posts. We were looking to add a player that would be able to hold down a key Back role as well as help teach our developing defenders in Cam Davidson, Lachlan Bailey, Durak Tucker and Andrew Trefry. Jordan fits the bill perfectly. He gives us another big bodied defender which also gives us flexibility in how we use Durak, Cam, Lachy and Dylan Winton.”
Having walked away from WAFL in 2019, Jordan is excited to be back in the system and reunited with Monaghan and Sanzone.
“Having been coached by both of them before I have an understanding of the commitment, dedication and consistency of performance that they expect from their players. I’m really excited to get stuck in, meet the playing group and have a great pre-season to set me up for 2020," Mills said.
Brad Dodd said both players will hit the track for the start of pre-season on Monday November 25th with the rest of the senior group.
“We’re putting the finishing touches on our squad now. We’d like to bring in one or two more experienced players if we can. Bradley and Jordan have been in our sights for a while and we think they add to the areas we needed to bolster. We have a relatively healthy squad, with only Matthew Jupp, Zach Jackson, Nick Kommer and Durak Tucker likely to start pre-season on a modified program.”
