Locantro Forced to Hang Up the Boots
Julian Locantro, recruited to the Sharks at the start of the 2015 season, has unfortunately been given the news that he can longer play the game he loves so much. Locantro made the call to Football Manager, Darryn Fry, stating that upon his latest check-up, medical advice was that in the best interests of his longer-term health that he should call it a day.
While devastated at the news Locantro was also very aware that this may have been a possibility after the serious head injury sustained in the round 13 clash against Subiaco. Locantro moved to the Sharks after playing 3 senior games at East Perth and in his first year with Easts he doubled that figure. After an injury interrupted pre-season this year, he started the year in the Development League and was pressing for League selection after stringing together some outstanding games, one a 43 possession game against Peel.
The Club will continue to work with Julian to keep him involved at the Club.
Julian, everyone within the Sharks community wishes all the best.
