Bill Monaghan extends contract as senior coach of East Fremantle Football Club

East Fremantle Football Club is delighted to announce that senior coach Bill Monaghan has extended his contract for an additional two years, ensuring he will remain at the helm through to the end of the 2027 season.
Since his appointment leading into the 2019 season, Monaghan has been pivotal in shaping the club’s direction, cultivating a culture of resilience and sustained success. Under his leadership, the team has achieved significant milestones, including participation in three finals series and securing the 2023 Men’s League Premiership.
President Mark Stewart expressed his enthusiasm for the contract extension, underscoring its importance for the club's future. He said, "Bill has been an integral part of the club’s success, and we are delighted that he will be leading the team until at least 2027. His vision, dedication, and leadership have been instrumental in driving the club forward and fostering a positive culture, which has helped our players thrive."
Monaghan expressed his excitement about continuing with the Sharks saying, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue coaching the East Fremantle Football Club. Success doesn’t happen by chance, and as we move forward, our ability to continuously raise the bar will define the next chapter of our journey. I look forward to building on our recent achievements and pushing for more success."
He also extended his gratitude to the club’s football staff, sponsors, members, and fans for their continued support.
Chief Executive Officer Addy Wetzler acknowledged the steadfast contribution of the senior coach saying, “In my short time at East Fremantle, it’s become clear that Bill is one of the League’s leading coaches and his record of success speaks for itself. Bill’s extension comes at an exciting time for the Club, and we will shortly finalise the appointment of our new General Manager Football Operations to round out our football operations team.”
With Monaghan leading the charge, the Sharks are poised for a bright future both on and off the field, with Bill stating: "I urge everyone to rally together to give the team the best possible chance to succeed for this great club."
