East Fremantle Football Club announces new Chief Executive Officer
The East Fremantle Football Club (EFFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Addy Wetzler as its Chief Executive Officer. After a rigorous selection process that attracted over 50 applications nationwide, Addy emerged as the clear choice, reflecting the strength of the East Fremantle Football Club brand and the significant opportunity the role presents.
Mr Wetzler, currently serving as the Head of Commercial at the West Australian Football Commission (WAFC), brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in driving commercial success within the football and not-for-profit sectors. He also serves on several boards including paediatric palliative care charity Hannah’s House.
Mr Wetzler expressed his excitement for the role, saying, "I am deeply honoured to be entrusted to lead the East Fremantle Football Club, an institution with a rich history and enormous potential.
“We experienced unprecedented on-field success in 2023 and I am eager to build upon this foundation. As we look ahead to our future in the new facility, I am excited about the opportunities it presents, and intend to take advantage of them. There’s a lot of hard work to do and I’m keen to get started,” he added.
“I’m a Sharks supporter and live locally so am fully aware of our unique place in the local community,” he added.
EFFC President Mark Stewart welcomed Mr Wetzler and highlighted the significance of his appointment, stating, "Addy is the perfect fit for our club and we welcome he and his family to East Fremantle. His proven commercial abilities, unique insight into WAFL and AFL best practice and leadership aligns seamlessly with the Club’s ambition to be a powerhouse on and off the field.”
“I am confident that our members, supporters, and all stakeholders will rally behind Addy with the same passion and unity that defines our club, our future is very bright indeed.”
