WELCOME HOME LIAM!

East Fremantle Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of former Sharks player and Lynn Medallist Liam Anthony as Senior Men’s Coach for the 2027 and 2028 WAFL seasons.

Anthony returns to the Club where he began his football journey, bringing a strong combination of AFL playing experience, premiership-winning senior coaching credentials and professional leadership experience.
A former East Fremantle vice-captain and 2016 Lynn Medallist, Anthony played 58 AFL games with North Melbourne before returning to the Sharks. His coaching experience includes roles within East Fremantle’s talent pathway and the WA State Academy, as well as leading Fremantle CBC to the 2022 Perth Football League premiership.
East Fremantle CEO Adrian Bromage said Anthony’s appointment followed a comprehensive selection process and represents an exciting new chapter for the Club’s men’s football program.
“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Liam home to East Fremantle,” Bromage said. “Liam has a genuine connection to our Club, and throughout the selection process, his leadership, communication and ability to build strong relationships really stood out. “His coaching philosophy is built around standards, development and relationships, which aligns strongly with the environment and culture we want to establish.
“Importantly, Liam understands that sustained success is about more than the League team. We want one connected football program across Colts, Reserves and League, with consistent standards, a clear football philosophy and a strong pathway for emerging players.
“We believe Liam has the experience, character and leadership qualities to drive that vision, and we’re excited about what he will bring to the Sharks.”
Anthony said returning to East Fremantle as Senior Coach was a proud moment.
“East Fremantle has been a huge part of my life, so to return as Senior Coach is an incredible honour,” Anthony said.
“I grew up supporting the Sharks, had the privilege of playing for the Club and understand what it means to represent East Fremantle.
“My focus will be on building strong relationships, establishing clear standards and creating an environment where players and coaches can get the best out of themselves.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to build a successful, connected football program and can’t wait to get started.”

Anthony will commence preparations for the 2027 WAFL season in the coming weeks.
