This Sunday at 2:10pm, East Fremantle heads to Steel Blue Oval for a huge final-round clash against Swan Districts to wrap up the 2025 WAFLW Home and Away Season.
With both teams sitting inside the top half of the ladder, this match shapes as a finals-shaping showdown. The Sharks will be hungry to bounce back after a disappointing result in Round 6, where the Swans got the better of us with a strong four-quarter effort.
Despite that, the Sharks have had the edge in recent head-to-heads, winning three of the last five matchups – including a gritty win at Steel Blue Oval last year. History shows we’re capable of winning on the road, and this Sunday we’ll need to bring that same fierce intent.
The Swans have been in hot form with 11 wins and strong scoring power (683 points for), but the Sharks have the defensive grit to match it. We will need to lock in early, stay clean with disposal, and look to control the tempo through our kicking game – which has seen us average 154 kicks per game this season.
While our League side is set for a tough hit-out, there’s plenty to be excited about across the club. Our Rogers Cup girls are absolutely flying – they’ve now notched up eight straight wins, a remarkable run that showcases the strength of our youth development and the spirit running through the Shark tank right now.
This weekend is more than just another round – it’s our last Home & Away season hitout, and we’ll be out to send a message. Let’s finish the regular season strong!.
Get to Steel Blue Oval – it’s going to be a big one.
Up the Sharks!
