Vale Percy Johnson

East Fremantle Football Club extend their condolences to the Johnson family on the recent passing of Percy.

Born in Kalgoorlie, Percy arrived in Perth as a teenager and attended Aquinas College.

Percy made his League debut for East Fremantle in 1951, playing 180 games in number 23, achieving premiership success in 1957 and is a member of the EFFC Hall of Fame, EFFC Life Member and WA Football Hall of Fame inductee. He also played for Swans, Claremont and WA for a total of 228 games.

Percy mentored young footballers, especially ruckmen for almost 60 years. He had a strong passion for working with young indigenous footballers in the Kimberley region, donating balls and boots so they could play our great game.

Percy is remembered as a legend of WA Football, respected media commentator and an icon of the East Fremantle Football Club.
