Bill Monaghan Steps Down as EFFC Head Coach
East Fremantle Football Club confirms that Bill Monaghan has decided to step down as Senior Coach. The Club was prepared to continue under his current contract through 2027. Bill sought an extension beyond that term and, after considering the Club’s position, has chosen to depart.
“The playing list has changed significantly, and the success of our Colts and Futures programs gives the Club an exciting future. I believe the next phase needs a Senior Coach with a longer-term commitment, so I’ve made the decision to step down and allow the Club to plan for that appointment,” Bill said.
“Coaching the Sharks has been a privilege. I’ll always cherish working with the players, coaches and staff to bring home Premiership 30, and I wish the Club every success.”
EFFC CEO Adrian Bromage thanked Bill for his contribution on behalf of the Club and Board of Directors.
“Bill has made a lasting contribution as a premiership coach and mentor. We respect his decision and wish him all the best in whatever he chooses to pursue next. Our review of the men’s football program is already underway as we plan for 2027.”
