East Fremantle enjoyed a successful day at Sullivan Logistics Stadium on Saturday, highlighted by a standout League victory over last year’s grand finalists, alongside a dominant Colts performance.

LEAGUE: SHARKS STAND TALL IN STATEMENT AWAY WIN

East Fremantle 12.6 (78) defeated East Perth 9.11 (65)

The Sharks produced a composed and impressive performance to claim a 13-point win over last season’s grand finalists on their home deck — a result that underlines the group’s growth early in the 2026 season.

After a strong start, East Fremantle maintained control for much of the contest, with a five-goal third quarter proving the difference. The Sharks’ ability to capitalise on opportunities was crucial, finishing at an elite 66.7% accuracy compared to East Perth’s 45%.

The midfield and ball movement were key factors in the win:

  • Disposals: 322–310
  • Kicks: 205–174
  • Inside 50s: 41–45

Despite trailing slightly in inside 50s, the Sharks made their chances count, showing efficiency and composure going forward.

Key contributors included:

  • Oskar Smartt (4 goals), leading the way on the scoreboard
  • Lennon Marlin and Cameron Eardley, who were instrumental around the ground
  • Tom Joyce, continuing his strong form through the midfield

It was a high-quality, hard-fought win — and one that will give the group plenty of confidence moving forward.

RESERVES: TOUGH DAY DESPITE STRONG EFFORT

East Fremantle 9.4 (58) defeated by East Perth 13.14 (92)

The Reserves fought hard but were ultimately overrun by a strong East Perth outfit, going down by 34 points.

After a competitive opening half, the Royals were able to generate repeat forward entries and pull away in the second half.

East Fremantle showed efficiency in front of goal (69.2% accuracy) but were unable to match East Perth’s volume of opportunities:

  • Inside 50s: 30–57
  • Disposals: 310–368

Despite the result, there were solid individual performances:

  • Zac Petersen and Declan Pauline worked hard across the ground
  • Elijah Stockden provided consistency
  • Jye Sander and Lucas Clarkson also contributed strongly

COLTS: SHARKS DOMINATE IN BIG WIN

East Fremantle 15.11 (101) defeated East Perth 7.5 (47)

The Colts delivered a commanding performance, showcasing their talent and depth in a comprehensive 54-point win.

After a steady first quarter, the Sharks took control through the middle of the game, kicking 18 scoring shots to 12 and dominating territory with strong ball movement.

Key stats highlighted the dominance:

  • Disposals: 349–270
  • Handballs: 170–103
  • Inside 50s: 45–42

The Sharks’ ability to win the ball and transition cleanly proved too much for East Perth.

Strong contributors included:

  • Mitchell Baker (3 goals) and Kye Ormerod (4 goals) providing firepower up forward
  • Finlay Yeo and James Artemis impressing through the midfield
  • A well-rounded team performance with contributors across every line

WRAP UP

It was a strong overall showing for the Sharks, highlighted by a statement League win away from home against a top-quality opponent, backed up by a dominant Colts victory.

While the Reserves result didn’t fall our way, there were still positives to take, with the group showing effort and competitiveness throughout.

The Sharks will now look to build on this momentum heading into next week as all three sides continue to develop consistency across the season.
