East Fremantle’s WAFLW side returns to action this Friday afternoon for their Round 2 clash against Peel Thunder at Lane Group Stadium.

After a tough opening round result, the Sharks will be determined to bounce back and respond with a strong performance as they continue to build into the 2026 season. There were encouraging signs in Round 1 despite the result, and the group will be looking to turn that into a more complete four-quarter performance this week.

Amber Kinnane was a standout in the season opener, leading from the front with her work rate and ball-winning ability, while captain Tiani Teakle impressed in her first game as skipper with her composure and strength behind the ball. The Sharks will again look to that duo to provide leadership and stability against Peel.

Around them, Noa McNaughton and Jae Flynn showed strong signs with their ability to impact both offensively and defensively, and will be key in driving the team’s response in Round 2.

A potential boost for East Fremantle could come in the form of Mack Webb, who is in line to make her club debut. If she gets through the main training sessions, Webb’s inclusion would add valuable strength and presence to the lineup.

It shapes as a big evening for the club’s women’s program, with both sides in action:

WAFLW: 4:00pm
Rogers Cup: 6:05pm

The Rogers Cup side will be looking to continue their strong start to the season, aiming to go 2–0 after an impressive Round 1 victory. With momentum on their side, they’ll be eager to carry that form into Friday night and set the tone once again.

Meanwhile, the WAFLW side will be focused on responding strongly, bringing consistency across all four quarters and capitalising on their opportunities against a competitive Peel outfit.

With both teams in action and plenty on the line, it promises to be an exciting night at Lane Group Stadium as the Sharks look to make their mark in Round 2.
