East Fremantle Football Club proudly congratulates Noa McNaughton on being selected by Fremantle with pick 5 in last night’s AFLW Draft.
McNaughton’s selection comes off the back of an outstanding 2025 & 26 WAFLW season in blue and white, where she has emerged as one of the Sharks’ most consistent and influential performers.
Joining East Fremantle ahead of the 2025 season after crossing from South Fremantle, McNaughton made an immediate impact in her first year at the club. Across 15 games in 2025, she collected 222 disposals at an average of 14.8 per game, while also laying 95 tackles—highlighting her ability to win her own ball and apply strong defensive pressure. She also hit the scoreboard and continued to build her all-round midfield game throughout the season.
Her development reached another level in 2026. In five appearances this season, McNaughton averaged 20.6 disposals per game, amassing 103 touches, alongside 26 tackles and four goals. Her ability to impact both at the contest and on the outside, combined with her composure under pressure, made her a vital part of the Sharks’ midfield group.
Throughout the 2026 season, McNaughton has produced a series of standout performances, showcasing her work rate, clean ball use, and growing confidence in front of goal. Her consistency across the year has highlighted both her rapid development and her readiness to take the next step at AFLW level.
The move to the Sharks allowed McNaughton to take on greater responsibility and continue her upward trajectory, which has now been rewarded with her draft selection.
Fremantle AFLW List Manager Darryn Fry said the Club was thrilled to add McNaughton’s talent to the list.
“We are really happy to add Noa to our list. She has been in strong form in the WAFLW so far this year, even recently getting on the end of a couple of good goals on the weekend just gone, which reinforces what we have seen in her game,” Fry said.
“She is really lively, with pace and a natural talent for hitting the scoreboard.
“We can’t wait to get her into the Club and meeting the other girls.”
McNaughton’s journey is a testament to her commitment and work ethic, and East Fremantle is proud to have played a role in her development.
The entire East Fremantle Football Club congratulates Noa on this significant achievement and wishes her all the best as she begins the next chapter of her football career.
