WAFLW FUTURES REVIEW

🦈 OUR NEXT GENERATION OF SHARKS — 2026 FEMALE FUTURES PROGRAM 💙🤍
Ten weeks of learning, friendships and football have capped off an exciting 2026 East Fremantle Female Futures Program!
Beginning in August, our players, parents and guardians attended an induction outlining what it means to be an East Fremantle footballer, the expectations of our program and the opportunities ahead.
With more than 60 players nominated across the East Fremantle district, the support of our junior clubs was outstanding. Thank you for identifying and encouraging young footballers to take their next step in the blue and white.
Training at The Good Grocer Park was a special part of the experience, connecting our players with the club and helping them see where their football journey could lead.
Led by Head Coach Ayla Keady, the program combined football education, fun and clear standards. As training intensity increased, players were challenged to build their skills, confidence and capacity, preparing them for the next stage of their development.
A big thank you to Zoe Edmonds, Rebecca Brayshaw, Olivia Keady, Ainslie Keady, Syd Fallows, Poppy Sowden, Lara Fuller and Abby Camilleri, alongside everyone who contributed throughout the program. Your time, energy and care helped create an environment where our players could learn and grow.
We fielded two teams across six games, proudly providing opportunities to a strong contingent of younger players. Players embraced different positions, learnt to be versatile and adaptable, and showed enthusiasm for every opportunity to improve.
Success in this program extends well beyond the scoreboard. Listening, responding to feedback, showing respect and gratitude, and becoming accountable teammates are all important parts of developing our future East Fremantle footballers.
To our players: thank you for embracing the challenge and representing our club with pride. To our parents and guardians: we recognise the commitment you make alongside your daughters, and we sincerely appreciate your support.
Looking ahead, our 2027 Futures Development Squad Program will evolve as we review our talent pathway, with a focus on keeping our next generation connected to East Fremantle Football Club for longer.
There is plenty to be excited about. The future is bright in blue and white! 🦈💙🤍
