EFFC WAFLW Award Winners

Beth Beckett has taken out East Fremantle’s 2023 WAFLW League Fairest & Best edging out Zipporah Fish and Ashlee Atkins on Saturday night at the Swan Yacht Club. Beckett, the reliable and hardworking midfielder walked away with the accolade in a premiership season after averaging 18 disposals, 2 clearances and 5 tackles. Hailing from Busselton in the South West Football League, Beckett joined the Sharks in 2022. Leading into her second year at the Club, Beckett was selected to be in the leadership group as she took her game to another level in 2023.
In the Rogers Cup medal count, Ruby Redman took home the Fairest & Best medal ahead of Kaylee Fisher and Alicia Blizard. From the Palmyra Junior Football Club, the co-captain played all bar two games this season as a line breaking inside midfielder. Redman spent a number of weeks training with the League squad this season with the club excited to see what 2024 holds.
After being announced as Life Members at the 2022 EFWFC AGM, Ashleigh Gomes and Darren O’Donnell were also recognised on the night. In her third season as captain and now a premiership skipper, Gomes played 100 League games this season. O’Donnell, a president of the EFWFC for four seasons, continued his outstanding service to East Fremantle in 2023.
