The East Fremantle Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Leith Teakle as a Director, following board approval to fill a casual vacancy on the Board.

A Life Member of the Club, Teakle played 166 league games in the blue and white and has maintained a strong and enduring connection to East Fremantle and football more broadly. He brings with him a distinguished playing career, deep ties to the Midwest region, and extensive executive and governance experience.

Professionally, Teakle is the General Manager – Member Services at the Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative, where he has played a key role in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and commercial growth across one of the region’s most significant member-based organisations. His career also includes senior roles with CBH Group, spanning domestic and international markets, logistics, and relationship management.

Teakle, who is based in Geraldton, is widely respected throughout the Midwest and Great Northern Football League (GNFL), having served as a player, coach, administrator, and advocate for regional football pathways. His appointment strengthens East Fremantle’s connection to a vital talent and community zone and reinforces the Club’s commitment to regional engagement.

East Fremantle Football Club CEO Adrian Bromage welcomed the appointment.

“Leith brings an outstanding mix of football credibility, commercial acumen, and regional leadership,” Bromage said.

“He understands this Club deeply — not just our history and culture, but where we’re heading. His strong ties to the Midwest and the GNFL are incredibly important as we continue to strengthen our pathways, grow our community reach, and build sustainable partnerships beyond the metropolitan area.”

Teakle said he was honoured to continue giving back to the Club that has played such a significant role in his life.

“East Fremantle has always meant a great deal to me,” he said. “I’m passionate about supporting the Club’s future and helping strengthen the connection between metropolitan and regional football, particularly across the Midwest.”

Teakle will serve as a Director until the 2027 Annual General Meeting, at which time he may nominate for a full term in accordance with the Club’s Constitution.
