As part of a growing community engagement initiative, a rotation of our Colts players have been heading out each week to support Starkick, an all-abilities football program held at Piara Waters and East Freo Power. Starkick is a multi award-winning program that gives children aged 5 to 17 living with disability the chance to play, belong, and thrive in football. The mantra is simple but powerful: “If you want to play, we’ll find a way.”

Our boys lend a hand wherever they can — Helping with activities, offering encouragement and most importantly, jumping in and joining the play. Whether it’s kicking a goal, chasing a mark, or just sharing a laugh, the connection between the Colts and the Starkick participants is truly something special.

To have so many of your young men down there last Sunday was fantastic” said one organiser. “The guys did really well and the kids thoroughly enjoyed having them there to support them.

it’s a powerful reminder of the game’s ability to bring people together, regardless of ability. Each session brings players and Starkick participants together through a love of the game, breaking down barriers and building genuine connections.

We’re incredibly proud of our Colts for the way they represent the club in the wider community. These Sunday mornings are a reminder that footy is about more than what happens on the field — it’s about creating spaces where everyone can belong.
