Swan Districts posted a comfortable 27-point win over East Fremantle, building an early lead and holding off a third-quarter fightback from the Sharks to move to 8-4 for the season.
The Swans set the tone from the opening bounce, kicking 2.2 to nil in the first term to lead by 14 points at quarter time. East Fremantle couldn’t find an answer in the second quarter either, managing just two behinds while Swan Districts added another three goals to take a commanding 32-point lead into the main break, 5.4 (34) to 0.2 (2).
East Fremantle finally got on the board in the third term, kicking three unanswered goals to Lara Fuller and Chelsea Natta to cut the margin back to 20 points at the final change. It was the Sharks’ best spell of the match, but Swan Districts steadied in the last quarter, adding another 2.2 while restricting East Fremantle to a single goal, to close out the 27-point victory, 8.6 (54) to 4.3 (27).

The Rogers Cup girls have been handed their first defeat in 8 rounds of footy, falling to second on the ladder Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval by 29 points.
The first half was a low scoring affair for both sides as they entered half time Swans 2.3 (15) to Sharks 1.0 (6).
The third quarter proved decisive as the Swans put 5 goals 2 points to nil from the Sharks putting the margin at 41 points leading into the last.
The Sharks fought back in the final quarter to kick 2 majors but it wasn’t enough to close the contest.
Positives for the Sharks were their 80% scoring efficiency with 4 goals from 5 scoring shots and their ability to play out the match despite the dissapointing 3rd quarter.
