WAFLW: SHARKS SET FOR TOUGH TEST AGAINST SWANS
East Fremantle returns to Steele Blue Oval this Saturday afternoon for a crucial Round 14 clash against Swan Districts, with both sides looking to strengthen their positions heading into the finals.
The Sharks will be eager to bounce back after their narrow three-point defeat to Claremont last weekend, where they matched one of the competition’s benchmark sides for most of the afternoon before being overrun late.
Swan Districts enter the contest in strong form and currently sit atop the ladder, making this another important challenge for the Sharks as they continue to build consistency against the competition’s best teams.
East Fremantle will once again look to its experienced midfield group, with Zoe Keley coming off another outstanding performance in the ruck, while Jae Flynn, Anjelique Raison and Sarah Wielstra have all been in impressive form in recent weeks. Up forward, Lara Fuller will be hoping to continue her strong run after kicking two goals against Claremont.
With only a handful of matches remaining in the home-and-away season, every game carries significant importance, and the Sharks will be determined to return to the winners’ list with a strong four-quarter performance.
ROGERS CUP: TOP-TWO BATTLE AWAITS
The Sharks’ Rogers Cup side faces one of its biggest tests of the season when it takes on second-placed Swan Districts at Steele Blue Oval on Saturday.
East Fremantle enters the clash full of confidence after extending its winning streak to eight consecutive matches with an impressive 47-point victory over Claremont last weekend.
The Sharks have been in outstanding form throughout the season, winning 10 matches overall, and will be looking to continue that momentum against another finals contender.
A victory would further strengthen East Fremantle’s position heading into the closing rounds of the season and provide another confidence boost as finals approach.
